David Reed
David is an actor, writer, improviser and musician living in London.
He played the role of Peter Cook opposite Little Britain’s David Walliams in the BBC4 Frankie Howerd biopic Rather You Than Me and has appeared in Channel 4 Comedy Lab Ain’t It Funny… and BBC 3’s The Wrong Door.
David has performed improvised comedy since 2001 with Edinburgh based troupes The Improverts, The Stand Players and ShamWagon; in London with The Spontaneity Shop and Grand Theft Impro; on the radio with BBC Scotland’s improvised comedy show Coming Up Next and on national tour with Totally Looped, a show where the performers overdub old movies with new dialogue.
His theatre acting credits include lead roles in dramatic productions of The Country Wife, Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?, Victory, The Creation of the World (And Other Business) and Noises Off.
David is also a professional drummer and one quarter of the house band in hit show Karaoke Circus, where famous comics and audience members join together to sing karaoke with a live band. He’s also provided backing for popular English performance poet, musician and songwriter John Hegley, reknowned cabaret show La Clique and for Jarvis Cocker at the Hammersmith Apollo.
